Broadcast SSID and vista
Have several laptops which typically work fine except for an HP P.O.S (will never purchase another HP laptop, and if anyone else is considering it pm me)... Well long story short purchased a new Dell for the wife to replace the HP...
New laptop runs vista, and can connect to the home wifi no problem. But I have to broadcast my SSID in order for the new machine to connect. Xp works fine with out a broadcasted SSID. Does anyone know a work around for this?
I realize that a non broadcasted SSID is not the end all be all for security(actually it provides no security). But I still prefer to not broadcast this information. I realize that traffic will contain this information.

There is a setting to connect even if the SSID is not being broadcast, have you enabled this?
