Difference between IOS versions

_maurice_maurice Member Posts: 142
Hi. What is the difference between these 2 versions of Cisco IOS?

c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T1.bin
c870-advsecurityk9-mz.124-24.T1.bin

I know the advanced security IOS supports VPNs. Does this mean the Advanced IP Services IOS does not support VPNs?

The advanced IP services will contain all the features of the advanced security feature set.

When in doubt always consult the Cisco Feature Navigator.

c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T1.bin has been known to cause explosive bowel movements in mice. So I would watch out.

You can also check out the IOS Packaging (formerly IOS Naming) PDF on the Cisco Partner Portable Data Sheets web page to get an idea of the IOS feature set hierarchy and a quick overview of the major capabilities.

Does it really? So the advanced security feature set does not support port-security.... which is the case with the advanced IP feature set.
