What is XM?

Hello I am not sure on the XM?
Why do some 26xx routers have an XM on the end...What does that mean?
Does it mean it's a modular router?

26xx XM series is a newer series of routers that look like 2600 series, but have fastethernet port and support more RAM/flash and newer version of IOS.

It's a natural step up, built on a lot of the same architecture, but the 2600XM series is beefier and supports the latest version of the IOS. For all intents and purposes, though, think of the 2600XM series as a completely different model of routers from the 2600 series.
