Cisco Partners

Does anyone know how Cisco partnership works? The company I work for currently is an authorized reseller, and cisco parnter. I know that because of this they get a discount on products from Cisco. Do you have to be an authorized reseller to get a discount on Cisco products?

I'm not 100% certain how it all works, but I do know that you do not have to be a reseller to get a discount.
