Guys/Girls:
I am looking for software that will help me document and track when I make changes or updates to servers. Anyone have any suggestions. I was looking for something that might allow me to add in the server then add comments about what changes were made along with date and time. Free and open source would be ideal.

If for personal use, any of the suggestions mentioned are good. I just log stuff in an Excel file. If you have to worry about SOX then you may want to be more **** and should really consider implementing a change control system.

Look into rackmonkey, it's a good cross between a change control system and an asset management system
