Don't know about that book in particular, but I do hope you use two sources of information. Exam Cram 2 would be a good addition.

The rule of thumb is to stick to not only one book.
    My priority goes as follows:
    icon_arrow.gif Sybex Lisa donald
    icon_arrow.gif Ms Press from Microsoft
    icon_arrow.gif Exam cram

and anything valuable on the net:
    Techexams tutorials,etc
there are so much stuff lying out there...

Heard that Transcender too is a value-for-money resource, but never been able to give it a try coz still looking on underground sites to find it..any help plz welcome

For some reason, Exam Cram2 is all I prefer. I have it for the 70-290 also.

Is the ExamCram2 good for the 290 exam? I am currently using the sybex book but want a second book to fill in the gaps ...

I have the Exam Cram 2 book and find it pretty valuable once you've covered a more general source such as the Sybex or MS press book.

A couple of practice exams never hurt either!

Best of luck! I hope to test for mine in less than a month. I probably could go a lot faster but I only have a few hours a week to devote to study.

Reviews on Amazon for the Sybex book are pretty disappointing.

Pick up the Syngress one and Exam Cram 2 as a supplement. Also, MS has added some new stuff on the exam regarding Software Update Services, Distributed File Sharing, and Scripting that's not to be found in any of these books as they are mostly 2003 editions. With SP2 out, I'm sure there will be more added to the exam objectives as time passes.

I just bought te Sybex MCSA Core pack (books for 70-270, 70-290, 70-291) and plan on using them, supplemented with practice exams and the Testout series of CBTs. I used the one for Security+ from them and found it to be a good addition to the knowledge from the Sybex book. I'd reccomend them if you have a way of getting them (my work provides my copy).

Sounds good. Just like any book, don't expect it to cover 100% of the exam. At some point you'll have to use other resources. But for the most part I would buy that book. GL. :D

I think the most difficult is to find a balance between all the resources. As you said, choosing only one book, might not cover all the aspects of the exam, while trying to find as much info as possible from many books, might be confusing and time consuming. Maybe some videos from cbtnuggets, transcender and learnkey could be helpful
