INTEL Q9300 CPU VT-x VT-d Disabled Hardware Virtualization Problem

I use VirtualBox and Virtual PC 2007 for virtualization
Every single virtualization software such as vbox, vpc, vmware and parallels says I can’t use hardware virtualization since it is not enabled!

In BIOS I’ve got only VT-d option which is enabled. No VT-x seen in BIOS
SecureAble says HARDWARE VIRTUALIZATON LOCKED OFF
Virtualization Locked Off

This processor's advanced hardware support for virtualization has been disabled and "locked off" by some external influence - most likely by this system's BIOS as the system was booting. Since enabling hardware virtualization will allow faster and more secure virtual machines and their hosting operating systems to run at 100% full speed, you may wish to poke around in your system's BIOS to see whether you're able to find any references to "hardware virtualization" or "VMX", etc.

* How do I enable real hardware VT-x? Intel says my CPU supports VT but in reality it’s not supported…
* In Your experience is it worth enabling Hardware Virtualization? How faster is it then?

You might just be hosed. I have one machine that has no option to enable it anywhere, even though the CPU supports it icon_sad.gif

Update the bios to the latest version and hope that there's options for enabling virtualization in it, if you haven't done so already. Otherwise you'll be in need of a different motherboard. Or figure out how to hack the bios to enable it, but I definitely don't recommend that option!

I was about to, but I chickened out. I didn't want to brick my machine icon_sad.gif
