I just a good laugh out of this one. I am always amazed how much more defensive people can be about their technology :) This reminds me of the many iPhone theft stories.

    it sucks that the laptop was broken, but at least his personal data wasn't stolen. You can replace items, you can't replace info or your identity once it's been stolen. Let's just hope he backed up his stuff though...
