Hi All. How are you ?
Hope things are going great at your end.I am a new member in this forum.
I would like to give some information about myself. I am basically from IT-embedded system field and i'm doing networking certifications as a part time student. Recently i passed the CCNA and MCSA (70-290 & 70-291) exams.
I am doing training of Vista courses and I am planning to take 70-620 exam soon. I need some valuable suggestions wrt 70-620 exam. I am studying from the Microsoft Learning 5115 & 5116 books and will be practicing Measure-up exam software/database at my training institute. Do i need to buy any specific exam software ?
How is the difficulty level of the 70-620 exam ? (compared to 70-291 which is a tough exam). Please do let me know. Thanking you.

In my opinion the 620 is the easiest exam of the lot, just make sure you know the new stuff in vista over xp. Windows mail, calendar, fax and scan, have a good mess about with meeting space. Also get to know control panel and get to know system requirements. Follow the MS guidelines/requirements and you won't go wrong. It really is quite a straight forward exam. I did my usual 2 months of study per exam, however i felt i ended up over studying for this one.

As always though, don't be too confident, you still have to know the material. There seemed to be quite a few sims in this exam which is good, i think they are a much better way to prove you know the material.

I found it to be easier than the 290 (haven't taken the 291 yet) but there is still a good chunk of material on the test, so don't underestimate it. Oddly enough I did better on my 290 exam than on my 620 even though I found the 290 more difficult. As mrmcmint said, know the new features and programs and know how to set them all up, and also know what "flavor" of Vista does/has what - I lost at least a few points by not doing some simple memorization. I had about as many sims in this one as my 290, but I took my exam over 1.5 years ago, and it seems that more sims have been added to the test since then.

I don't think this exam warrants buying practice software, but that's just my opinion - I'm not a huge fan of practice exams. I feel like I can better spend my time reviewing and practicing than doing practice questions.
Currently Studying For: Nothing (cert-wise, anyway)
    Next Up: Security+, 291?

It seems silly but this junk even extends into the Server world with 2008 now.

For the most part anything on a lower version will be on a higher version, but then there are odd balls, like how Windows Media Server role is ONLY available on Server 2008 Standard and Enterprise (not datacenter).

    Weird.

Hi All. Thanks a lot for your advise.
I certainly will have to do a lot of practice exercises using Virtual PC as there about 10 SIM questions in this exam nowadays and know all features of Windows Vista. If required, then only i'll buy a good exam software. Hoping to take the exam after 3 weeks.
    Appreciate your help.

it's not exactly junk - knowing what versions come with what can help you properly advise a client on what product they should purchase given their individual needs.
