Things picking up there?

Hi all,

Im based in ireland but starting to read where the UK/US is starting to pick up manufacturing and housebuilding

Is this being reflected in IT jobs yet?

Bit early Im guessing but just wanted to check

I heard that too on the news on teh way in this morning.

Best way to check is jobserve and see if the list is getting any bigger.

I though the UK was still in the danger zone? as the french and germans seem to be rubbing it in our faces

Even if we get out of the worst part of the economy i wouldnt expect a major increase in posts being made available immediately. It will take time until we get back to "normal". However, i have noticed a few more jobs being posted nowadays. Hopefully its a start to get back on track!

The job centre are reporting a reduction in the percentage increase in those on jobseekers allowance (i.e. it's still increasing but at a lower rate). So I'd say we have either hit or passed the bottom of things.

It's a bit too early to say if there are more jobs but companies are certainly more positive about hiring which makes a massive difference.
