problem with switch 2950

after i ran erase startup-config

i have the error .....

Error loading ""

Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.
Boot process failed...

The system is unable to boot automatically. The BOOT
environment variable needs to be set to a bootable
image.

need help

reading up on the error it soounds like a bad ios. Do you have another switch because of you do you can try the steps listed here

Sounds like you might have a corrupt ios...

Sounds like you erased a lot more than you thought.

One of the files in the 2950 has a list of variables with one line being "BOOT = < ios-image-name >

Seems this line has been blanked somehow.... Hopefully not the whole file...

Think I once had this during and IOS upgrade and to correct it, I dropped to rommon and typed in set boot=image name and then boot it back up with the boot loader. Seemed to do the trick once you get the syntax correct.
