2501 reset

I recently purchased a 2501 off ebay. The router is asking for a username when it boots. Is there a way to reset the router with a jumper as I am unable to login to the router.

There is no jumper to reset on a router for password recovery. Follow the steps in the links below:

It would be nice if sellers would include a 'how to' with a router when you buy it. They could reset it for you. My first 2501 was a real mystery. This web site a great resource for CCNA study.

I like the fact that something was wrong with it from the get go. Fixing this problem is now something I will not soon forget.
