Making the jump to CISSP....a few questions
I have about 5.5 years of network administration(Windows 2003/AD/GP, etc), with half of that time as a network engineer with management of cisco switches, pix firewalls, and vpn concentrators. My education background is an MIS(Management Information Systems)Bachelors, with Information Assurance core, instead of an System Analyst Core, or a Supply Chain Core. Basically this means my 4 level classes are/were geared towards an "Information Assurance" focus.
Recently passed the Security+ on my first shot with an 830.
Any pointers on a study process for someone just starting out?
How long to study for?
What are recommended materials?
Any particular books, particular websites? Forums? Videos-> IE: CBT Nugz, etc......
The only material I used to pass the Security+ 2008 was ExamCram 2 for SY0-201, various chapters from the latest Sybex SY0-201 book, I used this website, and watched a few clips from the CBT Nugz SY0-201 series.

Just as a quick overview because you will find everything you're asking about in other threads in this section.
How long you have to study for is dependant on how familiar you are with the 10 domains.
The two main study guides are the official CBK and the All in One 4th edition guide from shon harris.
The CCure website is a great study tool. There are blogs as well as first hand info from people who have passed in this forum. -
