After being a book/lab worm for a couple of months I finally passed the ICND1. I used GetCertify4Less to get a discount voucher and was lucky to have the test room all to myself.
The test was easier than I thought. The Boson practice tests were harder, in my opinion, but that is a good thing!
What I am using to study:
I read the notes on this site as review
Wendell Odom's books
CCNA Routersim
CCNA Boson Lab Simulator
Basically, what I did was read each chapter as I took notes. Went over the key topics at the end of each chapter. After reading the whole book I would do the chapter quizzes. Any quizzes I got 90% or lower I would go through the chapter again until I scored 90% or above.
Once each chapter quiz was completed I used a Boson practice exam. On the areas where I scored under 80% I would re-read the corresponding book chapters. I did NOT view the answers from the Boson exam because I simply did not want to memorize each question and answer. This helped me understand the core concepts and memorize key topics for the real exam and in real life.
I am now studying for the ICND2 with a rigorous schedule.

DJ dont worry about the score - YOU PASSED that is all that counts. Like most tests like these they are a pass/fail
In my interviews with engineers I have never asked what their score was And when I was interviewed I have never been asked. -

I agree. Try not to worry so much about the score but focus on nailing those test objectives. I think practice tests are a big advantage in figuring out where your weak points are.Visit my blog: http://www.packet6.com - I'm on the CWNE journey! -
