Hello Everybody,
I want my MCP certification first than following my MCSA
certifications.I have two questions. First , What MCP Elective
Exam number can i take , that is best related towards MCSA. Second,
What MCP elective Exam number is best to take for good general knowledge
on a networking and administrative perspective ? . I highly appreciate
the advice.

Thank you,
Anthony

Thanks for the perspective ,

    I went 290 > 291 > 284 > 620. This path is probably easier than the more traditional one of 270 > 290 > 291 > <any elective>.

My path provided me with these advantages:
    1. I got the MCSA
    2. I got the MCSA: Messaging specialisation (also counts towards MCSE: Messaging)
    3. The 620 is definitely easier than the 270 ( of course, if you consider yourself an expert on XP and havent touched Vista, then this doesnt apply to you )
    4. The 620 counts towards the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator certificate
    5. The 620 gets you an extra certificate, the MCTS.

Maybe someone else can add in some more advantages to this route.

For general networking/admin knowledge I'd say it'd be a combo of 290 and 291 (both core I know, I dont think any elective provides you with good general knowledge).

But definitely do the 290 first. Or maybe even the 620, to get your feet wet.

I think you can get some good knowledge from the ISA and SharePoint exams, the SQL Server exam will be much harder but might be a little more highly desired. I think the System Center exams would also be good from an admin perspective.
