Passed SY0-201 today

in Security+
I don't post on here often, but I've always gotten valuable info on study sources and
career direction. Always much appreciated. I tried to be steady and deliberate over the last 4 months in my study, and it paid off with a score of 850. icon_study.gif Only one question on Virtualization, and nothing regarding ports...all that port study for naught. Oh well, I think I'll take a break and look at some MS certs.

    Thanks guys. Since I have been stuck in the Mainframe dimension for too many years, and not having any "hands on", with regards to network hardware, or even desktop support, I thought it wise to first look toward the MS 271/272. There is really no point in stockpiling certs if you're not in an environment to use them. I hope that changes for me soon. Yes, MCSA would be a good option. Any input or suggestions are welcome.

    If you're looking at desktop support (MS 271/272), you may like to look at some of the newer certs.

    Windows Vista includes an MCTS with 70-620. There are also two MCITP certs for DST. The Enterprise Support Technician MCITP includes exams 70-620 and 70-622. The Consumer Support Technician includes exams 70-620 and 70-623.

    Windows 7 includes an MCTS with 70-680 which is out now. It also includes two MCITP certs for DST. The Enterprise Support Technician MCITP includes exams 70-680 and 70-685. The Enterprise Desktop Administrator includes exams 70-680 and 70-686. 70-680 has been out for a few months, but the 685 and 686 exams won't be released until next month.
