701/702 vs. 601/602

Hey guys about a year ago I took the 601/602 exam, and I didn't pass. Of course I received the templated response "don't worry your not the only one".

Some people say that the exam is hard because it is an "adaptive"" exam. I have two questions.

1) Is the 701/702 exam adaptive?
2) What is the differences between 601/602 and 701/702?
