System Bus Speeds
exit12
Hi all
My first post to this forum. Great site by the way, real nice atmsophere! (does that make sense?
)
Anyways, how do I change the bus speed of the system board.
Thanks!

Great Info!
Thanks a lot. Just to be clear, is it only the L1 Bridges on the Athlon/Duron processors that you re-connect? and the other bridges are let as they are? Just that I noticed some of the other bridges have also been split.
Thanks Again

some mobo speeds can be adjusted via jumpers, others via the cmos, or, perhaps, a combination of both.
with the prices of cpu being so much less than they used to be, unless it is on an older computer, it is better to upgrade the cpu.

I used to do a lot of overclocking just for fun, and to see how far you can go (running AMD duron 650 MHz on 900+ MHz for example), but
never
did the overclocking result in a stable machine... even if it's only by increasing just the Front Side Bus.

my asus doesn't like overclocking. push the bus speed too far and it refuses to boot. removing and replacing the cmos battery is the only way to get it back on its feet. instead of overclocking my duron 950, i just went out and bought an athlon 1700xp.
