Is it just the done thing to do A+ then Network+, or is there a logical reason behind it.
I was planning to do MCSA after.
Thank`s.

Kinda depends on what you want to do. If you are going to start out doing Desktop Support (Which most people end up having to do) then A+ is going to get you a job quicker than the Network+. A+ also does a good job setting a foundation for studying the Network+. -

Slowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 ModMost people like to take A+ first since CompTIA recommends that, but it's by no means a requirement. It does sound, though, like the work you do is more related to the A+ material than the Network+, so I'd recommend starting with A+, doing Network+, then moving on from there. The MCSA is a good place to go , as is CCNA, MCITP, or even the other CompTIA certs like Linux+ or Security+.
Good luck with your studies, let us know how it goes.

I was going to do self study for at least A+, anyone have recommendations on best and/or cheapest option to go about it?
Can I even get a 2nd hand CompTIA A+ Complete Study Guide Exams 220-701,220-70
and then register to take the exam? -
Norbie Member Posts: 105I thought Network+ was way easier than A+ but they say A+ is the entry level certification.
I don't think you would have any problem going Network+ and then A+."Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." - Winston Churchill -

You will have to register with Vue or Prometric. -
stephens316 Member Posts: 203 ■■■■□□□□□□Register with VUE for education exam save money,
1 A+
2 Network +
3 70-680 - Windows 7 exam should count for the OS
4 70-290
5 70-291
6 Security + 2008
Please note that while information has not been posted yet that the MCSA/MCSE may soon start the stages of being retired, I would expect to start to see this in the Summer of 2010 as Server 2008/R2 and Windows 7 is becoming the choice for companies to upgrade.
Therefore you would need to work quickly or pursue MCST/MCITP track please see the forums for the track
Good luck studying______________

1) Start prepping on your own. Pick out your resources, plan out your studies.
2) When you get close to burning out, register with Vue or Prometric, purchase your exam voucher, pick a testing center, and schedule the exam.
3) Cram until you take it.
