Anyone know of any reasonably priced RAM sticks?

With my recent purchase of a laptop, I have thought about maxing out the ram to 8gb. Sadly though, both RAM slots are filled with 2 gb sticks which means those go to waste if I upgrade. When I visited a few sites I have seen 4 gb ram sticks $150 and up. Does anyone know of any good lower priced 4 gb ram sticks?
The ram is ddr2 pc2-6400

When I picked up 4GB sticks a couple weeks back from Newegg they were $140 each with free shipping, they probably don't get any cheaper than that currently.

I might even replace my 400 GB 5400 rpm with a 64 GB SSD "I do not need much space on the laptop - it is a toshiba U500-10N by the way"

He is referring to notebook memory, which would be exceptionally surprising if you can get a single 4gb stick for under $80 -

They lead you to believe it's a single 4gb, but it's a 2x2gb kit. Have to be careful with these things. -

No, it's deceptive advertising. Click on their link on pricewatch as if you were going to make a purchase and you redirect to a 2x2gb kit. 1stchoicememory's website doesn't even offer a single 4GB module.
