Yahoooooo! I finished CCNP today. Had to retake BSCI. :D Now to start studying for the R&S written. Hmmmm, where shall I start. I had a CCNP that passed the written tell me I should just go on and take it while NP is still fresh in my head. I am not really feeling that froggy though.

I think the new 4th edition of the Cisco Press CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Certification Guide is shipping soon. So far I've only noticed it "slip" from the Nov 19th date to the "current" Dec 3 "shipping date."

I'd agree that it would be nice to take it right after finishing the CCNP. I'm finding myself learning a lot of the small details for things like STP all over again since it has been well over a year since I passed. There are things covered on the written that are not on the NP, or covered in a lot more depth so I wouldn't suggest just jumping right in with out additional study though.

You also have to ask yourself if you pass the written right now would you be ready for the lab in 18 months. If not you will just have to take the written over again which I have seen a lot of people do. Not that its bad thing, but the test is $350 a pop. Like Mike pointed out, its also a new version and the cert guide hasn't even came out yet so that might be another reason to hold off.

Anyway, congrats on the NP and good luck on the IE studies!

Thanks for the congratulations. I do think I will study a month or two after I get the new R&S study guide. I want to review a few things like switching. It is not my strong point.
