Passed SY0-201 with 857/900!

Passed the SY0-201 Security+ exam today with a score of 857/900.

I just typed a long post detailing what resources I've used / tips etc but when posting got a nasty 403 error....

Will retype it at some point but now off for a celebration steak!

MS Press Security+ Certification Training Kit (SY0-101)
CBT Nuggets (SY0-101)
Transcenders Practice Exams (SY0-201)
Wikipedia – really useful for understanding the differences between the different encryption techniques, algorithms and strengths.

Tips:-

Clearly known the differences between TACACS and RADIUS and when they are used.
Make sure you know the different encryption algorithms, particularly which ones are symmetric and which ones are asymmetric.
Be prepared for questions asking you to ‘Which of the following would be the BEST choice...?’ and ‘Out of the following which is LEAST likely....?’ Often there are two or more potential answers but use your knowledge / study to work out the correct answer for the proposed question.
Read up on what a FARADAY cage is and when it would be used!
Do plenty of practice tests before the exam – they helped me a lot and on areas which I was unsure allowed me to focus my studies accordingly.
Don’t ponder for too long on each question, if you are unsure make an educated guess (process of elimination) and then mark that question for review. Make sure you review all selected at the end of the 100 questions.
