Exercise in the official TK

Hello,
I'm using the official training kit and I'm on chapter 2, lesson 1. On the exercise there, I am supposed to create a WIM Image of my Win 7 computer, but I have some problems booting the Win PE startup disk I create.
Because when I try to start from the WIN PE boot Dvd, I get an error message:
"The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible."
I don't really get what I am doing wrong. Anyone else experienced the same problem?
Btw, For anyone else who has read through the training kit, how did you find it?

Dracula28 Member Posts: 232Thanks. I got it, no boot.wim in iso/sources, no boot. You have to copy winpe.wim to iso/sources and then rename it to boot.wim.
Strange that it is not mentioned in the training kit. Because this is apparently a recurring error.Current certs: MCP (210) MCSA (270, 290, 291 and 680) MCTS (680, 640) -

The TK probably took the steps from the MS documentation which has the error as well. If the MS documentation has an error you can only expect it to be repeated. Authors need to verify their labs before they publish the books, if you ask me.
Glad I could help you, though. -
Dracula28 Member Posts: 232They definitely should. One of the co-authors, Orin Thomas, has created an errata at

Good luck on the exam.
