What is typical for a Christmas Bonus?

I received a $50 gift card from my manager, but I think that's more of a gift than a bonus. There was a company-wide bonus this year, though. People participating in the employer health plan didn't have to pay the premiums for the December pay period. The value of this depends on your plan, but I think at least $150. I have insurance through my wife's employer so I get no bonus.

I work for a small company -- the company just gave us a nice suprise breakfast and a box of chocolates.

The breakfast was damn good!

Never had a bonus from any jobs I've worked. Heck, I've worked on Christmas eve and Christmas Day every year since I was 16 bagging groceries. The only benefit of working all week Christmas week? Having New Year's week off!

I think last year I got $300, but I doubt I will receive it this year.

as Dynamik said, it's usually anywhere from $2000 to $3000 after tax, but they're not really "Christmas Bonuses." We have incentive-based quarterly bonuses based on sales metrics. Engineers largely have nothing to do with this but we reap the benefits because we go onsite and represent the company, create upsell ops, etc.

At my current job I don't get a bonus.....hopefully in the future things will change.

I work in banking and recieve no bonus at xmas. Apparently we do in april, and if so, it will be my first bonus ever!!

I wonder if that has anything to do with coinciding with tax season lol
