Custom Views Count

Do custom views in outlook, like the last 7 days, count towards the total message count in exchange? For example, there are 120 items in a folder with the All Messages View but only 20 items in that same folder with the Last 7 Days View. If you leave the view in the Last 7 Days View does Exchange count it as only 20 items or the 120 items? Thanks in advance!

The last 7 days is a subset of the original 120. Exchange sees 120 messages, but by selecting the last 7 days, outlook is filtering out 100 of them.
