small problem with GNS3

Hello All,

I have today used GNS3 for the first time, i installed it on my pc which has got windows vista. i have installed GNS3-0.7RC1-win-32-all-in-one.

i have few router ios images as well, when i run this program ( GNS3) after successfully installing it, i have added ios image in router and then after making connections when i try to open console for configuration, it doesnt open.

and before adding routers i started dynamips.

all devices are running, i enter list command and it shows all network devices that i am using.

earlier when i used to try to open console it used to give a msg like file not specified. or cant find the file. someone asked me to go to edit , then preferences and then general and change terminal command to -telnet %h %p. before it was set to c:\vista\putty\putty.exe -telnet %h %p . now when i try to open console it doesnt give any error msg but doesnt even open the console.

if someone on this forum has had an experience with such kind of problem, pls share the solution.

thank you

Nice info... I am starting to study my CCNA, Is GNS3 advisable to use since I don't have any router to use? I only have a couple of 2960 with me and a friend of mine advise to use this GNS3 for my CCNA studies. I'd really need to finish my CCNA and I do'nt have any budget buying 2 routers for now.

GNS3 is great for studying CCNA topics. Setting it up can cause a bit of pain, but there are a ton of useful tutorials available, such as at the official site, and especially here:
