Cisco Visual Switch Manager

I am configuring my first hardware cisco switch, and the product literature mentions Cisco Visual Switch Manager, which I have never heard of so I tried typing in the IP address, and I received a login prompt. I looked at the literature on the cisco website, but it seems as though I should have already configured this perhaps?

It's asking you for the enable secret password. You did set this first? You need privilege level 15 to access web based controls like this and SDM.

+1, I have a 3500XL with that same feature. Kinda useless though, there is very little you can do with the GUI.

thanks guys. After a quick test, it looks like the username doesn't even matter
