Wireless Engineer or Network Engineer

If you guys could take a job as a wireless engineer, but you would make less money then a Network Engineer, would you take it?

I think with the way wireless is moving, it might be a smart idea to take a wireless position for a couple of years.

I would enjoy working with wireless. I worked with a Wireless Admin during my internship.

I personally like wireless. I believe the technology is much easier than networking, as network engineering you deal with a lot of variables. In a wireless position you are just concerned about input/output. Wireless devices to me are just another form of "Access Layer" device. Wireless is only HOT and wanted because there are not that many qualified people who know the technology, but the technology isnt that seriously complex in my opinion. After my CCIE studies I will probably branch off into wireless. I worked with many cisco wireless products and i have about 2 good years of implimenting/maintaining/designing wireless networks.

The only real hassle is wireless NICs on Laptops with compatibility issues. Then having the thin line of "do i touch this users laptop, to help fix the problem,or am i crossing a legal boundary here?" Dealing with drop connections and old wireless NICs can be a pain, but then again, in a network engineer position you could be dealing with a lot more serious concerns! Routing/Switching/Security/QOS / 6500 issues!
