IPv6 Network - Prefixes

I'm currently studying IPv6 network in preparation an upcoming exam (70-649).

However, I'm struggling on how to identify the differences between between the different types of IPv6 addresses just by looking at the first 16 bits.

From my understanding you can differentiate a site-local and a link-local address by the prefix (fe80, fc00 etc). Similar to that if you see a 168.254.0.x address within IPv4 you can identify it as APIPA.

Does anyone have a list / table / guide on the different prefixes and how to recognise each one just by looking at the address?

Thanks in advance!

Luke

Link Local (like Automatic Private IPv4): Always starts with fe80
Unique Local (like Private IPv4): Always start with fd
Global: not 100% sure, but I believe they start with 2000 and up. I guess if it doesn't start fe80 or fd, than it's Global :)

Don't forget Multicast with FF(scope bits)::

Thanks for your help on this. Do you have a definitive list somewhere?
