Will 3524 Switches work for CCNA?

Will 3524 switches work for the CCNA and maybe serve as extra switches for the CCNP later? I already have 2 2950's and found a nice deal on a lot of 4 3524's. If they are worth it Im gonna pick em up. Any input?

    Short answer: 2950s are better.

If you want more details search the forums for "3524".

They may be ok for maybe 2nd-6th switches (for STP and VTP) but not for much else.

They'd be fine as a 3rd switch, or even a 4th switch in a CCNA Lab (but then, so would a 1900 icon_lol.gif) -- as long as you are getting a nice deal.

I'm using 3524XL-EN switches in my home network -- and a PoE version over in my Voice Lab to power my phones.

But if they cost more than a 2950, you may as well get a 3rd 2950 -- or invest in a 3550 towards a CCNP lab.
