what does LRE mean?

I downloaded a few versions of the IOS for our WS-C2924-XL swtiches and one of them is a LRE edition. by chance does anyone know what this means?

I have no idea what it is, however I found CISCO's definition for you:

LRE is ciscos proprietary standard for extending ethernet signals over existing cat 1, 2, and 3. It allows a maximum transmission speed of 15mbps. They say it can be used to connect multi-tenant buildings where the cost of media upgrades are not cost effective. It can also be used in the tactical military due to the length of runs that are possible.

It can be inlcuded in the CCNP, CCDA, and CCDP testing tracks. I don't know about the CCNA though.
