Sure you can pass in a month, but will you really learn everything and make it stick in a month? Highly unlikely IMO. I guess it depends on what you are trying to get out of the certification. If you just want the letters next to your name then you could probably do the CCNP in four months. If you want to get the most out of it a month per exam is pretty low. Its also dependent on the hours you put in a day. One month of 12 hours a day is obviously better than 3 months only studying an hour a day. Just start learning and when you feel ready take it. Time lines are pretty useless IMO.

    Now I'm completely confused icon_scratch.gif.

I reckon I could do it in a month, I'm currently averaging 25 days per exam. Only problem is I would forget it all as quickly as I learnt it.

Retention is always the problem with rushing them through.
Oh, and the other problem, burn out. if it is possible to do this in a month it'll take another month to get over the burn out.

    I disagree with that.

You don't have to "****" to achive the Route exam in one month. you said you took 2 months for your BCMSN. And we are suggesting cutting that down to one. I don't even agree you need to brain **** to achive it.

This compltely depends on you level of knowlage to start with, and your understanding of the topics. Plus how much time you can put in to it. and how you aproach learning it.

If i wasnt working I think i could quite easly pass this exam in a month, (assuming I had the gear to play around on)

It dosent matter if it takes you a week to pass or a year. If you come away only knowing the facts then you have missed the point. If you come away understanding the ideas, behind those facts. Then you have achived the goal of the course. Becasue if you understand the "ideas" then you are in a strong postition to apply and adapt them to a working envirment.

Well if that's the case yes. You can pass it in a month if you "work" in the field and understand the material. Or if you spend about 6-8 hours studying per day. If not, then it isn't possible. chances are you'll pass the exam but you aren't going to retain much of it once you start studying for the next one.

I knew I should have stayed out of this thread. They always end with a bunch of people repeating the same one or two opinions over and over.

I could without the nerds, but not the ****. Much easier to look on the internet. I don't miss my younger days of VHS tapes and magazines.

Saying can you do it in a "month" doesn't really mean anything. A person who studies 8-9 hours a day maybe, a person who studies 2-3 probably not. Also, let's be honest, some of us are geniuses and some of us are not. Going back to the previous example, if the person studying 8-9hours a day only need to do a lab twice to learn it and remember it indefinitely and the person studying 2-3 hours a day need to run each lab 3-4 times we can start to see how some people can do it very fast and how others cannot.

This information is also usually not valuable. The only time it's meaningful is if you have a deadline like "losing my job in X months, graduating in X months" and want to know if you can finish this in time. Also, I think the best way is to study for one of the tests, see how long it takes you to pass, then multiply.

hmmm maybe thats because a lot of people lack common sense. why would you spend a month on an exam only to forget about it ? like what exactly would you get out of it ? complete waste of time any money if you aske me.

The basic idea is to learn it at your own pace then when you feel you are ready go and sit then exam.

All these people who spend 5 hours per day or whatever for a month or a few months makes me laugh really...

and then a few months later they have forgotten about it

What does lack of common sense have to do with people repeating opinions?
