I've been aggrevated with my sim since I realized that it doesn't support all the commands to follow along in in the ICND1 book.

So I started looking around for a switch to practice on.....
Here at the vocational center where I teach, the wiring closet is in my classroom. I noticed today that there is a Catalyst 3550 that hasn't been connected or powered on in the 3 years I've been here. So I checked with our school district IT guy and he said I could have at it - just backup the config.......
So....today I got a refresher course in password recovery and tftp backup, lol. I did it back in my acadamy days 5 years ago, but had pretty much forgotten it all. Google is my friend.....

I'm good to go now, though. It doesn't look like I would have gotten to play with one of these 3550's otherwise, judging by the prices on ebay
