Using SDM

Was just reading through the Cisco page on getting SDM up and running. Noticed that the router needs to have an IP address so that you can tell your browser where to point. Does this mean that SDM will only work if you have previously configured one of the interfaces with an IP? Thanks in advance.

No matter which way you use SDM, there will need to be IP connectivity between the router and the device you're viewing it on (whether you're doing it through a browser because it's installed on the router, or whether you're using the SDM client locally). Can't have that unless both ends have an ip assigned!
