What is different between Signed image (.bin) and unsigned image (.sbin).

    I might be wrong but I believe it is an effort to stop hacked firmware being loaded on the phone, the phones will only accept a correctly signed phone load.

    Hacked phone loads could easily forward the VoiP data stream to another host allowing hackers to eavesdrop other calls.
