Hey dudes,
Hitting MPLS out of the park tomorrow!.... Hopefully my cockiness doesn't come back to bite me on the bum!
Quietly confident.... got all the objectives nutted out and have labbed up alot of MPLS over the past few months.
Work has been busy as hell since I passed the BGP exam in the middle of last year... but its all worthy experience in the long run, I'm glad I've managed to get to this point with work, uni and extra curricular studies all under control...
So far to study for 642-611 I've used a mix of -
Cisco Learning Network
Transcender Prac Exams - MPLS
MPLS Fundamentals (Luc De Ghein) <---- Must read!!!! Fantastic!
MPLS and VPN Architectures (I & II) <---- Dated but still good to browse
Dynamips and my rack of real kit for hours of labs, to really assist in grasping some of the MPLS applications that I don't get to play with at all!
On the job experience with MPLS technologies (MPLS VPN, AToM, VPLS, TE, IPv4 + Labels)
So 11am (AWST) tomorrow is when I hopefully fulfill my CCIP aspirations and move onto the next one!
Will update tomorrow post exam!

Scored a 901/1000, was alot easier than I thought it would be...... Its been a real interesting qualification to obtain.
Full run down when I get back from the gym
Can you tell I'm over the moon?

Congratulations on the pass! -

Does "over the moon" mean out celebrating?
Yes it did.......... haven't had a chance to hop onto techexams for the update since.... been working lots of hours due to projects and also studying for uni\more quals.... plus fitting in the gym amongst all that....
But quickly without breaking the NDA...... topics that aspiring MPLS exams sitters should make sure they have under control
- LDP (how it performs in frame-mode and cell-mode)
- Basic MPLS operation & configuration
- Really understand the ins and outs of MPLS VPNs & configuration
- Really understand the ins and outs of MPLS-TE & configuration
- Know how to use MPLS troubleshooting tools and when to use them
They may throw some curve-balls in terms of AToM, MPLS over ATM networks..... so make sure you read all the topics in the below mention book....
MPLS Fundamentals is the book that I completely recommend for this exam plus lab\real-world experience with the configuration\troubleshooting of the topics.
I was a bit shocked I didn't get any questions on VPLS however...
Currently working on some Juniper qualifications (SHOCK... HORROR...) but we've deployed alot more Juniper kit in our network so its definitely worth it while I work on\decide on which CCIE track I want to pursue.
At the moment I'm reading the R&S exam book but a part of me really wants to tackle SP.... time will tell..
Good Luck to anyone tackling this exam now or in the near future.
