CatOS?

When do we need to learn CatOS? Is this an older OS being phased out? Or is it an OS run on certain switches, routers etc.. that will be around for a long time

i don't think its going away anytime soon. its is used on 4000, 5000, and 6000 switchs i'm not sure about the 7000 and up. some of these have add ons that can run ios additionally. its good to know if u plan on going to ccnp in my opinion.
