Aironet or 871?

So i am looking at adding wireless to my house and would prefer to do it either though a Aironet or a 871 routers. I dont feel like buying a cheap 30 router to do the job since i would much rather learn how to implement wireless through one of them.

Looking for a recommendation and which one would be better.

I use 1242AGs around my house. They should be cheaper than the routers with built in wireless and if you ever get a WLC you can use them with that.

In my configuration, WiFi clients connect to the 802.11g radio and the 802.11a radio is used as a backhaul connection. My laptop supports 802.11a and I tried using that to see if there was a significant improvement in throughput but even with the reasonable number of other WiFi networks near me on the 2.4GHz band, it didn't really improve that much.
