One of my users was sent a .pym file and we have no idea how to open it. Has anybody had any experience opening these files?

I've searched online and cant find a solution.

PYM appears to be a Python macro which is a little unusual if this is supposed to be a document so I assume its something else which is proprietory and not particularly well known. Tell the user to tell the sender to use another file format.

You tried opening it in Notepad or your favourite text editor to see if anything is actually readable?

I tried Word, notepad, wordpad and even with python since it pym appears to be a python macro.
