Is there any difference between these two config commands and if yes what?


interface serial 0/1.102 point-to-point

interface serial 0/1.102

Do I need to use the point-to-point or it is just optional?

Been awhile since I went over FR but for a quick check you could run this to find out:
"interface serial 0/1.102 ?"

If you see "<cr>" then the point-to-point addition is optional.

C2610-XM-R2(config)#int s0/0.100 ?

multipoint Treat as a multipoint link
point-to-point Treat as a point-to-point link
