Certificate quality

Just received my certificate in the mail from Comptia. Is it just me or do these things seem cheap. I compared them to my older A+ and Net+ certificates which are printed on nice heavy bonded paper. This new certificate looks like and insert I would pull out of a magazine. I know it is bitching but for the price we pay the least they can do is present the certificates with nice quality paper. KM

It's just a piece of paper. Who cares. I'm pretty sure Cisco prints theirs on double-ply toilet paper.

I know it is not a diploma but it is nice when you look at something and say gee I worked for that and it looks nice on the wall. Oh well just me I guess then.

I actually prefer the PDF copy anyway, because I can print them in high-gloss and shrink them down. This is how I have my certs done:

I think it's tacky to put them all up in full-size. My wall isn't that big anyway :)

    +1
I was surprised how the certificate had changed. At least they sent one MS has you download theirs.
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

I think Comptia certs are cheap looking. They have improved them but still they are piece of paper. The only way to make them look better is a nice cert frame. A few years ago, I had found some $3 ones at Wally world. Simple black frames for certificates and they look nice. This is how I display my basic certificates.

GIAC had really cheap certificates considering the time and the money spent obtaining their certifications. Actually they were really BAD!!!!! They changed this a year ago or so and now give an AWESOME framed certificate. Nice Wooden frame is delivered to your door with certificate. It looks college quality.

GIAC certifications have the nicest and coolest certificates...... AND FRAMES!!!!

But frames come with price..... Beginning cost of course, cert was expensive.

The renewal cost is not bad considering you get study books, mp3s and recert test attempt for a reasonable cost.

The amount of material you learn is incredible. Usually each course is 6 thick books.

    You recertify every 4 years.

I'm thinking as I get more Linux experience about going for their Unix/Linux Security certification.
