It is the upgrade exam to Windows 7 from Vista/XP.

dhlee528 Member Posts: 6 ■□□□□□□□□□I had called MS because prometric won't update my exam score, and I asked about 682, and they said I need both MCDST "and" Vista(Enterprise Support Technician)
I thought I only needed one of those requirement, and my certification planner in mcp website is trying to say same thing as CS rep
now I'm confused -
Hyper-Me Banned Posts: 2,059Either the MCDST or MCITP:EST cna upgrade to EDST 7 with the 682. You don't need both.
Some poeple, myself included, disagree with a straight upgrade from MCDST. But that is MS' decision. -

Piers Member Posts: 454 ■■■□□□□□□□Gonna hit this one tomorrow .. will post how I did.. haven't studied very much, so thank goodness for the second shot. this is just a 'what the hey' take
Have skimmed the MCPress 680 book and am using the 685 resource thread:study: Office 365 70-347 / 698 later -
Piers Member Posts: 454 ■■■□□□□□□□Well, if nothing else, I've previewed the format lol
The exam was 50 questions, divided into two parts of 25, part one for 680 objectives and part two for the 685 questions. 135 minutes allotted in total for both parts, with separate time allowances for each section
Despite reading through both the MSPress and a guide from MediaWorks Publishing, I did very poorly on the 680 portion of the exam. From the looks of the measuring bar, I probably would pass the 685 by itself, which I only spent 1 day looking through the resource thread I linked in the previous post.
A few questions from pretty much every category listed in the objectives, with about 75-80% of the questions having something to do with the new W7 features which was to be expected. The 685 questions were all scenario based, they gave you a company and it's server/pc/user/apps setup, then a problem within that scenario and how you would best set things up or fix what was wrong. My kind of exam, closely mirrors what I've been doing for the past 12 years.
Because of the second shot, I definitely didn't take this exam seriously enough, but now I have the idea of the level of preparation I need to pass the test the next time.. I figure within about a month I'll be truly ready on this one, for real this time:study: Office 365 70-347 / 698 later -

mypcrepairguy Member Posts: 41 ■■□□□□□□□□I will be taking the 70-682 this Saturday. For study material I used the Measureup website and purchased a 30day license for study questions on 70-680 and 70-685. In addition to this I used the CBT nugget videos on 70-685 and used the examcram study software for 70-680. As of this point I feel confident that I should pass. I'll update on Saturday after the test. Wish me luck!
Thanks!

mypcrepairguy Member Posts: 41 ■■□□□□□□□□Just completed the exam today...wow what a brutal and (in a creepy masochistic way) fun exam. I passed...just barely. But a pass is a pass. The format was similar to the Vista DST upgrade exam. Only new thing were the last case-study questions. I feel that studying both 70-680 and 70-685 will provide enough knowledge to eaisly pass this cert. Sooo on to the next cert for me!

Well well well.. Took my 682 second shot on Saturday. Since my 685 portion last time went so well, and my 680 half was abysmal, I spent all my time since the first exam re-reading the 680 MSPress book.
The result: 622 because of poor 685 results..
think I'm going to give W7 a rest until I can get a copy of the 685 book from work .. BAH!:study: Office 365 70-347 / 698 later
