Question on assigning permissions to workgroup users

Hello,

If I go into group policey I can search under "locations" the local computer and I have a listing for my workgroup, however when I go to a file or folder and into the NTFS permissions I only get the option to serch the "location" local PC. is there anyway I can make it so that my workgroup is under the location tab as a option when trying to dish out permissions for files or folders...many thanks

No, that's not possible. The reason for this is inherit to a workgroup. permission are not centralized as in a domain, but instead stored on the local machine.
