I started looking into applying for a migration Visa to Australia, and it seems it would be quite easy to get, because of the apparent shortage in ICT workers.
My question for all the aussie folks is if there really is an shortage of IT people there? If so, what kind?
As the title suggests, I am a Network Engineer and I wonder if it would be easy for me to find a job there.

Aussie has a good footprint in terms of IT. Certainly opportunities but I dont know the landscape currently. Might be tight for anything other than senior roles and competitive for those. Im sure the locals will advise! -
AlexMR Member Posts: 275My friend's little brother went there to get his master's and a professor helped him get a job. He was CCNA and had very decent experience in a big telco. He got his masters and couldnt get a contract, so he decided to get another master's to keep his status as a student and keep working. He was working in contracts i think and somehow off the books. He finished his second master's and even though he still had his job, they werent that interested in him as to go through the hassle of requesting a work visa or w/e they call it.
He says there is plenty of jobss there for mid level and high level IT positions, but for some reason the market wasnt that eager to keep a guy with a rock solid experience and background, with two master's included.
I dont know how "easy" it would be to get the visa and a contract. Good luck.Training/Studying for....CCNP (BSCI) and some MS.
