Sec+ today!!!
subl1m1nal
Hey all,
I'm taking my Sec+ here in a couple of hours and am doing some last minute cramming. I'll post my results here in a bit and what I used to study.
My question is, with regards to OS hardening, which is more effective, HIDS or a software firewall?
Thanks,
Subl1m1nal

May have found my answer:
Using a firewall vs. an IDS

I would have to think a firewall would be more useful for closing off ports and whatnot. HIDS only detect and alert problems. Any other thoughts?

Make sure you brush over security policies as well. Domains, access, etc. I was hit hard with that.

Will do! Bout to leave now for my test. 1 hour drive. Hopefully all goes well.

Got 855/900. No real hiccups for me. Is it me or are the CompTIA test way easier than the microsoft tests?
Study material:

As for comparing CompTIA to MS..MS is harder IMO

Good score! I passed mine but didn't score quite as high.. I even made sure I wore the same shirt and sat at the same computer as I did for the A+..
Maybe all I needed was a Red Bull
