I am sitting for CCNA in about a week..
I was thinking of CCDA after CCNA...
it it as its name suggests a LAN/WAN Design course? I mean guides you on how to build a LAN in a college for example ? or in a big company?
Is it something like this or different ?

And what about a good book?

CCDA: Cisco Certified Design Associate Study Guide, 2nd Edition (640-861) by Todd Lammle, Andy Barkl

or Cisco Press (there are 2 cisco press CCDA books):

CCDA Self-Study: Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions (DESGN) 640-861, First Edition -- by Diane Teare

CCDA Exam Certification Guide (CCDA Self-Study, 640-861), Second Edition -- by Anthony Bruno

Which one to get ?

Thanks !

CCDA Cisco Press of course, and study guides for those books is a bigger plus because it will help cut the fat off when you are ready to sit for a test.

Top Down Network Design is a great bookto use.

Cisco does not say CCNA Certification is required for CCDA, it does say however CCNa level of knowledge is required. Focus on the CCNA and forget about CCDA intill you pass CCNA.

If you go on after that to complete your CCNP, you only will need to complete the ARCH test to have a CCDP.

From what I have seen CCDP Certs have been averaging around $75k slightly higher than CCNP.

Get both Im sure it will pay more :)
