You meant SNAF I'm guessing. I have heard its pretty ASDM heavy but can't confirm that. Good luck, I would really like to pursue this as well after the NP.

    Good Luck!! icon_thumright.gif

It is SNAF, right? I know Cisco changes the CCSP exams more often than the other tracks, but they usually find time the time to update the web site. icon_lol.gif

Good luck!! I can say that you can definitely expect alot of ASDM since thats 80% of the Global Knowledge course material. The running configs on this things get messy though. Let me know how you do I should be taking that sometime this year as well.

You can point out where your 5505 fell short compared to the exam blueprint for this exam -- and where you think it will fall short for the SNAA exam. Just avoid typing things like "on the exam" or "you need to know" etc... :D But anything related to your preparation and the exam blueprint is fair game. "I wish I had practiced transparent firewalls more" is okay as long as you don't mention the word "exam" or "test" or "question" (in the context of "exam question") in the same paragraph -- or lead off a post with "here's stuff that you need to know for the exam."

I haven't checked the latest CCSP exam topic updates but I had thought that that dual PIXen running 8.x (or GNS3 PIX 8.x emulation) should still work for most of the tasks, with the 5505 good the SSL VPN stuff & any other ASA specific tasks that didn't include the modules.

yes i agree the ssl stuff is pretty straight forward ill try to spent more time in other areas like context firewalls and failover the other subjects seemed pretty straght forward, im thinking about buying rack space in gigavelocity or a place like that for the SNAA i probably try to sell my ASA 5505 and start renting racks is probably cheaper

    Well done man.

I plan on starting prep for this exam during the summer and I'll do the SNAA right after.

I Just finished watching both series of CBT Nuggets on the ASA (SNAF and SNAA) and the 5505 is perfect for these tests... there's virtually nothing you can't practice on the 5505 for these tests. I only have a 5505 and I'm not using anything else

The only thing that varies from the 5505 w/ base image is the amount of vlans, connections, etc it can handle. Don't waste your money!

I also passed the SNAF a few weeks ago, very ASDM intensive but there's still lots of in depth questions to go along with it
Progress: CCIE RS Lab scheduled for Jan. 2012
    Equipment: Cisco 360 program racks
