So this new certification, MCITP: Virtualization Administrator (or whatever it's called) is meant to be a stand-alone cert?

Like the MCITP: EA maps to a job function. Is it the same for this cert? I mean, could you get certified as a "Virtualization Admin" and get a job in MS VM technologies somewhere?

Sure. My company has a virtualization team but they maintain a VMware infrastructure instead of MS.
