IT Fundamentals I: Based on the CIW Foundations certification IT Fundamentals II & III: Based on the A+ certification I know have the two language classes to do, and I just added the Operating Systems class (based on the MS 70-680 certification.) If everything happens right I should be able to finish seven classes during this first semester. If I am able to finish seven classes this semester I will have seventeen left to complete. I intend to graduate at the end 2011 which means I will have to be doing at least five classes per semester to get there. I honestly don't see this as being a problem. WGU has enabled me to have the freedom to move as quickly or slowly as I need to with my Bachelor degree program. I'm newly married and I also work full time. For those reasons my life is busy as it is, and I don't need it to get any busier.

Already have Security+ materials coming to finish that by years end. Completing TSV1 will put me at 19 CUs for the term. Term ends Jan 31, so hopefully I can fit a bit more in there, too.
Hyper-Me wrote: » Passed MGC1 on saturday without even studying a lick. 72% and the cut score is like 51%. Beginning to think there won't be any challenging classes in this degree path.
petedude wrote: » Do you have any programming classes? Those might be a bit tougher. And don't get me started on cut scores for WGU's own exams.
earweed wrote: » I have noticed that a lot of the cut scores are actually below a statistical "D" NDM has no programming courses now, unless you count JavaScript.

earweed wrote: » You get that after you finish your first term and make SAP. I got squat when I did almost 2 years ago.
jahsoul wrote: » I'm guaranteed to make SAP even if I don't pass Project+ tomorrow. lol. Sweet, I'm getting something for free...oooow.

erpadmin wrote: » @msteinhilber Hey man, I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do. What you went through would have made weaker men jump off a bridge. I don't see it as you quitting, but more of a strategic retreat. Better you doing this, then continuing something where you're heart and head isn't 100%. Do what you need to do, and if you want to continue your studies at either WGU or elsewhere, you can always do that. Plus, when the deferments, forebearances run out....there's always another school. Best of luck, once again.

For example, in a regular university you might pick 3 of 5 domains for electives, but in a WGU exam you might see material from all 5 domains, but you are still expected to be proficient in 3 of the 5 ..... hence low cut scores. That is my take anyway. MS and Comptia exams are similar. You have to show proficiency in minimum number of content areas, but not necessarily all areas.
erpadmin wrote: » Well, I completed 1 task for LAT1 (the annotated bibliography). I really did think I would blaze through this class and LUT1 like I did for LAE1. I was sorely mistaken, but jmasterj206 did tell me as much. Mind you, LAT1 is not difficult. It really isn't. It's just a friggin lot, and with work getting busy (yet another PeopleTools Upgrade...yay! ), I have been getting drained. I do have 13 days of vacation left for the rest of the year, and next week I'm off....so whatever is not done this week, I'm spending the whole week next week wrapping up. Regardless of if LAT1/LUT1 is finished, WFV1 will be scheduled for that Saturday. I'm not really worried about it though as I have many HTML resources...that's really the only thing I needed to bone up on. I had thought that I'd get 30-40 CUs.....but it's not happening. At best, after I'm done with these classes, I'm just going straight to AIV1 (70-642) and prepping straight for that. I do want to be a MCTS before the end of this year.... Then I will map out the next term to see what can be knocked out. If all goes well, that's 25 CUs. So, two months went by and I still have 12 out of 19 CUs done. October should be a better month, I'm hoping.
