Need utility recommendation - remove XP backup folders

I am looking for a small program that can be run from a thumb drive, that will search and remove the backup files and folders that windows updates and hot fix create. Trying to free up some HD space on some users laptops prior to a software upgrade this June. Anyone have any recommendations?

write a batch to remove them. They are named with a weird looking pattern in the system32 folder and are hidden.
